Education and Blogging

By looking at other blogs that teachers have made, it seems like blogging could be an extremely helpful tool in the education profession. I mostly looked at Kindergarden blogs because that is my ideal future, and I loved the ideas that these teachers had. I saw videos from cute things that happened in class, like Halloween. One teacher posted a how-to to make a construction paper spider. I thought that was such a good idea!

Especially for parents to look at, I think blogging can be a new thing to keep all parents completely up-to-date on things going on in their child's classroom. If I were a parent, I would LOVE to see the things that these teachers post on their blogs of my child. There are pictures, videos, updates, at home activities, and anything else you would want to know. I would definitely do this when I become a teacher.

Even at an older age, I think blogging is a good tool to use. When I was in my sophomore year of high school, my English teacher had us make a Blogger blog about anything we wanted, and we had to post at least two posts a week and reply to other classmates' postings. I loved doing it, I thought it was so fun and so interesting to see what my other classmates were interested in. It got me into using the internet differently and I really enjoyed it.

  1. AHA! An experiences blogger! Well, hopefully you're beginning to see how they can be used in your kindergarten classroom!

You do need to be careful about posting students' pictures and names, though. Your school or district may have a policy; you may have to get parents' permission first, too.

But you're right! Blogs can help you get ideas and also help you share what's happening in your classroom!
